Potter

A potter makes objects such as bowls, mugs and vases from clay. They shape the clay by hand or on a spinning wheel called a potter's wheel. Once the piece is shaped and dry, it is fired in a kiln, which makes it hard and durable.

Potters often add glazes to give their work colour and a waterproof surface. Pottery is one of the oldest crafts in human history, and potters today still use many techniques that were used thousands of years ago.
