Galileo Galilei

Galileo was an Italian scientist who used telescopes to study the sky. He discovered moons orbiting Jupiter and supported the idea that Earth moves around the Sun.

His experiments helped establish modern science.

These discoveries showed that not everything in the sky orbits the Earth.

Galileo also studied falling objects and the motion of pendulums. His work helped to change how people understood the universe, although he faced trouble from the church for supporting the idea that the Earth moves around the Sun.
