All about Industrial Revolution

The Industrial Revolution began in Britain around 1760 and spread to other countries. Machines powered by water and then steam began to produce goods in factories instead of by hand, changing how people worked and lived.

Cities grew rapidly as people moved from farms to find work in factories and mines. Railways and steamships transported goods and people faster than ever before. The revolution also brought new problems, such as crowded housing and dangerous working conditions.

Machines and steam engines started to replace hand work, and factories were built to make goods such as cloth and iron.

The Industrial Revolution made goods cheaper and faster to produce, and it helped to build railways and ships. However, factory work was often dangerous and long, and children sometimes worked in harsh conditions. Over time, laws and new ideas improved working life.
