The Garden Hose

A garden hose is a flexible tube that carries water from a tap to a garden. It can be used for watering plants, washing cars and cleaning patios. Hoses are made from materials such as rubber, plastic or fabric-reinforced tubing.

Early garden hoses were made from leather and later from rubber. Hoses are now made to be lighter and more durable, and some expand when water flows through them.
