All about Lions
Lions are big cats that live in groups called prides. Lionesses do most of the hunting, while males defend the territory.
A pride usually includes several females and their cubs, along with a few males. Lionesses do most of the hunting, working together to catch zebras, antelopes and other prey on the African savanna.
Male lions protect the pride's territory from rivals and are easy to recognise by their thick manes. Lions sleep for up to 20 hours a day, saving their energy for hunting and defending their home.
