All about E-Waste

E-waste is discarded electronic equipment such as old phones, computers and batteries. It must be recycled carefully because it can contain harmful materials.

Only a small share of e-waste is recycled properly.

When these items are thrown away with ordinary rubbish, their metals and chemicals can leak into the soil and water and cause harm.

E-waste should be taken to a recycling point or returned to the shop, where valuable metals such as copper and gold can be recovered. Repairing devices and passing on items that still work also keeps electronics out of landfill.
