Dissolving

When a solid dissolves in a liquid, its particles spread out evenly through the liquid and disappear from view. Stirring, heating and crushing the solid can all help it dissolve faster. A solution is the mixture that forms.

Warm water can dissolve more sugar than cold water, which is why sweet tea is often made with hot water. Not everything dissolves, though.
