Digital Cameras

A digital camera records pictures as digital data instead of on film. It uses a light sensor that turns light into electrical signals, which are then stored as an image file. The photos can be viewed on a screen, printed or shared online.

Digital photos are stored on memory cards that can be removed and placed into a computer. Because the images are digital, photographers can take many pictures and delete the ones they do not want without wasting film.
