Gamelan Music

Gamelan is a traditional music ensemble from Indonesia. Its instruments are mostly made of bronze and include gongs, metallophones and drums. The music is played by large groups of musicians who each play a different part to create a rich, layered sound.

Gamelan music is often linked to ceremonies, dance and theatre performances. Many gamelan orchestras have dozens of players, and the instruments are carefully tuned to work together.
