Loy Krathong

Loy Krathong is a Thai festival in which people float small decorated baskets called krathong on rivers, ponds and lakes. The krathong are often decorated with flowers, candles and incense. The festival is a way to thank the water and let go of worries.

Loy Krathong takes place on the night of the full moon in the twelfth lunar month. Many people float their krathong with a wish, and the glowing lights on the water create a beautiful scene.
