All about Road Safety

Road safety means staying alert and following the rules whenever you are near traffic. Always use the pavement, look both ways before crossing and use a crossing when one is available. Stop, look and listen before stepping off the kerb.

Drivers may not see you, especially in bad weather or at night, so wear bright or reflective clothing. Never play in the road, and keep your phone away while crossing. If you cycle or scooter, wear a helmet and follow the same traffic rules as other road users.

Road safety keeps you and others safe when you walk, cycle or travel near traffic. Look both ways before you cross the road, use pedestrian crossings and wait for the green man. Stay on the pavement when you can, and always hold an adult's hand near busy roads.

When cycling, always wear a helmet and make sure your bike is in good condition.
