Using Scissors Safely

Always hold scissors with the blades pointing away from you and cut slowly and carefully. When you finish, close the blades and put the scissors down with the blades closed. Never run or walk around with scissors in your hand.

Safety scissors have rounded tips to reduce the risk of injury. Pass scissors to someone with the handles facing them, and keep your fingers away from the blades while cutting.
