All about Hay Fever

Hay fever is an allergy to pollen from grasses, trees and flowers. When pollen enters the nose and eyes, the body reacts by making them itchy, runny and red. Hay fever often gets worse in spring and summer when pollen counts are high.

Pollen can travel many kilometres on the wind, so it can be hard to avoid. Keeping windows closed on high pollen days, wearing sunglasses and washing your face after being outside can help. A doctor can suggest medicines if symptoms are troublesome.
