Endangered Animals

An endangered species is at risk of disappearing forever. Habitat loss and hunting are big causes.

๐Ÿ’ก Fun fact

Giant pandas were saved from extinction by conservation work.

All about Endangered Animals

An endangered species is a type of living thing that is at serious risk of dying out. Scientists and organisations such as the IUCN keep lists of threatened species, which show how many animals of each type are left in the wild.

The biggest threats are habitat loss, hunting and poaching, pollution, climate change and invasive species. Protecting habitats, creating national parks and stopping illegal trade all help endangered animals recover.

Species become endangered when their homes are destroyed, when they are hunted too much, or when pollution and climate change make it hard for them to survive.

Conservation groups work to protect endangered animals by creating safe reserves, breeding them in special centres and passing laws against hunting. Every person can help by protecting wild places and not buying products that come from endangered animals.
