Magnetic Levitation

Magnetic levitation uses magnets to lift and move objects without touching them. Trains called maglev use this effect to float above their tracks and travel very quickly.

๐Ÿ’ก Fun fact

Some maglev trains can reach speeds of over 600 km/h.

All about Magnetic Levitation

Magnetic levitation uses magnets to lift and move objects without touching them. Strong magnets push against each other, so the object floats above its track. Maglev trains use this effect to float above their tracks and travel very quickly.

Because they do not touch the track, they have very little friction and can run smoothly and quietly.
