All about Tooth Decay

Tooth decay happens when bacteria in your mouth feed on sugars and produce acid. The acid slowly wears away the hard outer layer of the tooth, called enamel. Over time, this can create holes called cavities.

You can prevent tooth decay by brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and flossing daily. Limiting sugary snacks and drinks also helps. Visiting the dentist regularly lets them find and treat small problems early.
