Crocodiles

Crocodiles are large reptiles with long jaws, thick scaly skin and powerful tails. They live in rivers, lakes and swamps in warm parts of the world. They are strong swimmers and can stay almost completely hidden underwater.

Crocodiles often sit still for long periods while they wait for prey to come close. They sometimes swallow stones, which helps them grind food in their stomachs. Crocodiles have been around for millions of years.
