Dragonflies

Dragonflies are fast flying insects with two pairs of long wings and large eyes. They are excellent hunters and can catch other insects in mid-air. They can also hover, fly backwards and change direction very quickly.

Dragonflies spend most of their lives as young nymphs living underwater. They breathe through gills and hunt small creatures in ponds and streams. After several months or years, the nymph climbs out, and the adult dragonfly emerges.
